Ford F150 is a powerful pickup truck that is introduced to offer power-packed performance with enhanced strength and capability. It is built with a high-strength military-grade, aluminum-alloy body, and a torture-tested high-strength steel frame.
The towing capacity of the 2022 F-150 models ranges from 8,200 lbs to a maximum of 14,000 lbs. On the other hand, the minimum and maximum towing capacity of the F-150 Lightning are 7,700 lbs and 8,600 lbs.

There are 8 different models of the 2022 F-150 including the F-150 XL, F-150 XLT, F-150 LARIAT, F-150 King Ranch, F-150 Platinum, F-150 Limited, F-150 Tremor, and F-150 Raptor. The towing capacity and strength of these models are different based on the configuration, engine types, and power delivery which we will explore below.
As we discussed above, there are currently 8 different models of the 2022 Ford F-150. All models come with the standard engine configuration while there are optional choices for the optimized performance.
For instance, the F-150 XL (the lowest variant of the 2022 F-150) comes with the standard 3.3L Ti-VCT V6 engine that can produce a maximum power of 290 hp and a maximum torque of 265 lb.-ft. Customers can choose other options such as 2.7L EcoBoost V6, 3.5L EcoBoost V6, 5.0L Ti-VCT V8, and 3.5L PowerBoost Full Hybrid V6 engine.
The top variant F-150 Raptor is equipped with a 3.5L EcoBoost High-Output V6 Engine that delivers a maximum power of 450 hp and a maximum torque of 510 lb.-ft.
3.5 EcoBoostEngine
The 2022 Ford F-150 equipped with a 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine can deliver an optimum power of 400hp at 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 500 lb.-ft. at 3,100 rpm. With this power delivery, a maximum towing capacity of 14,000 lbs is available.
A 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine is standard in the F-150 Raptor, F-150 Tremor, and F-150 Limited while it is optional for other models including XL, XLT, LARIAT, and King Ranch.
3.5LPowerBoost Full Hybrid V6 Engine
A 3.5L PowerBoost Full Hybrid V6 Engine is also available for the 2022 Ford F-150 models. This powerful hybrid engine can produce a maximum power of 430hp at 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 570 lb.-ft. at 3,000 rpm. The maximum available towing capacity with this engine is 12,700 lbs.
The PowerBoost Full Hybrid V6 Engine is optionally available for Ford-F150 XL, XLT, LARIAT, King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited.
5.0L Ti-VCT V8 Engine
A 5.0L Ti-VCT V8 Engine delivers a total power of 400hp at 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 410 lb.-ft at 4,250 rpm. With this power delivery, the Ford F-150 can tow up to 13,000 lbs.
V8 Engine is standard in the F-150 King Ranch and F-150 Platinum whereas it is available optionally on F-150 XL, XLT, and LARIAT. However, it is not available for F-150 Limited, Tremor, and Raptor.
Towing Capacity of F150 V6
There are 4 different V6 engines available on the all-new 2022 F-150 Pickups which are 3.3L Ti-VCT V6, 2.7L EcoBoost V6, and 3.5L EcoBoost V6.
The 3.3L Ti-VCT V6 engine can deliver a maximum power of 290hp at 6,500rpm and a maximum torque of 265 lb.-ft at 4,000 rpm. It is standard and only available in F-150 XL and F-150 XLT models. The maximum towing capacity with this powertrain is 8,200 lbs.
The 2.7L EcoBoost V6 engine is standard in the F-150 LARIAT model while it is also available optionally for F-150 XL and XLT models. This engine can produce a total power of 325hp at 5,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 400 lb.-ft at 3,000 rpm. F-150s with this engine can tow up to a maximum of 10,100 lbs.
Likewise, the 3.5L EcoBoost V6 is standard in F-150 Raptor and F-150 Limited whereas it is optionally available for F-150 XL, XLT, LARIAT, King Ranch, and Platinum. This engine can provide enough power to tow up to 14,000 lbs. The maximum power generated by the engine is 400hp at 6,000 rpm while the torque is 500 lb.-ft at 3,100 rpm.

Ford F150 Lightning is an all-electric pickup truck that is built to deliver a power-packed performance with serious toughness and unbelievable handling in all driving situations. An advanced lithium-ion battery pack is used to deliver power to the electric motor of the F150 Lightning.
With this configuration, F-150 Lightning offers an EPA-estimated range of 230+ miles on a single charge. Besides, it is also available with an extended-range battery that can provide an overall range of 300+ miles.
As Towing Capacity is concerned, the all-new powerful F-150 Lightning offers a towing capacity ranging from 7,700 lbs to 8,600 lbs depending on the mode. The Ford F-150 Lightning offers amazing towing capability which is made possible due to the availability of 775 lb.-ft of easy-to-modulate torque. It is always ready to accomplish the job when it comes to pulling a boat out of the water or pulling away from a traffic light with a loaded bed.
